How the job will change
On their clienteling app, advisors now receive suggestions: which client to contact, which new piece matches their purchase history, a draft message in the client's language. Assistants answer product and stock questions instantly and summarise a client's history before an appointment. The conversation in the boutique and the trust it builds stay human.
The role moves towards the relationship itself. A good advisor tomorrow will use these suggestions without sounding scripted, know when not to send a message, protect what clients confide, and spend the time saved on appointments, private events and the follow-up that keeps a top client loyal.
- 2026-2027
- Clienteling apps suggest contacts and draft personalised messages.
- 2028-2030
- Instant product and stock answers; preparation time sharply reduced.
- 2031+
- Advisors judged on relationship depth more than transaction volume.
Turnover among advisors is high and each departure takes client relationships with it. AI tools can preserve client history, but not the trust built with one person. See the seniority outlook below.

How the numbers are built
Every headcount figure combines four assumptions. Three come pre-filled from public research and job family defaults. The strategic ceiling is yours to set.
Seniority outlook
A flow model with three levels of experience in the profession. Promotion and exit rates are set so that today's mix stays stable when hiring does not change: any gap you see comes from the junior hiring cut alone.
